He is passionate about coaching and has delivered keynote speeches at various New York Life offices nationwide, emphasizing efficient business practices for optimal client experiences.

Personally, Derek brings the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance from his days as a member of the University of Colorado football team, where he was part of the 2001 Big 12 Conference championship team.

Derek and his wife Michelle cherish family time with their sons Alexander and Nicholas, enjoying travel, sports, and community engagement. They actively support charities like Catholic Charities and the Denver Rescue Mission, embodying their commitment to giving back.
